The blur of winter and spring

Somehow, half of 2022 has come and gone, and I'm not sure I remember what happened.

Things started to get crazy just after the holidays. I fell into a period of nearly-constant travel, occupying a unique niche as "the person who will fill in on your tour when your keyboard players take vacations or get Covid".

For a whirlwind period from December to May, I was basically on the road constantly, popping in as a "guest star" in the orchestras of three tours: LION KING, FROZEN, and JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, along with the occasional quick week or weekend back at home in New York where I'd do my usual filling in at ALADDIN.

Basically, winter and spring became a blur of airports, Uber rides, hotels, KN95 masks, and keeping six keyboard books on four Broadway shows in my brain at any given moment. Those months found me jetting to Denver, Chicago, Indianapolis, Providence, Orlando, Richmond, Tampa, Austin, and Wichita.

Summer 2022 sees me with a much more relaxed pace back home in New York. I've got another REWORKED recording project in its early stages (Christmas release; stay tuned!), and lots of other bits and pieces along with the always-reliable work at ALADDIN.

You might wonder: "What happened to all that VR and UX stuff that you were blogging about?" Indeed, over the past year I did complete certificates in UX Design and XR Design, but I'm happy to report that music has once again taken over as the career focus as of mid-2022. It remains to be seen how the other stuff fits in, but the fun is in figuring all that out!

Next up is a trip to Utah and Colorado for some much-needed time with family, and a repaint of my entire apartment that necessitated temporary storage of all my LEGO sets and parts inventory (insert your favorite sad-face emoji). Which reminds me, have you seen my other site GROBIEBRIX.COM?
